Sector Central is the largest and the oldest of the Modřín area. The majority of problems here were created between 2001 and 2007. The sector is popular among climbers who climb the grades up to 7A. The boulders are hidden in a spruce forest, which can protect them from the sun rays.The forest, nevertheless, also traps moisture for a longer period of time. Boulders located near tall walls and towers are an exception. These boulders are in a more open space and they dry up faster. A great part of the sector offers good landings and safe spots for children. Due to a decline in interest in the recent years, some boulders have been covered with moss, so it is necessary to clean them again.

Classic climbs: Hampi style 8A, Jack Hever 7A, Kompozice 6C+, Umyvadlo 6C+, Prádelna 6C/+ etc.

Most of the problems has drawn arrow on the rock. One with horizontal line is for sit start.

SD Start from sit. Hands begin below the horizontal line of the arrow.

Stand Start from the stand. Hands begin below the arrow.

From holds Start from marked or specified holds.

One block Start and climb only on one stone. Do not use the surrounding blocks.

Sektor Central je největší a nejstarší sektor celého Modřínu. V letech 2001 – 2007 zde vznikla většina problémů. Na 0,6 km2 se dnes nachází téměř 500 problémů. Sektor je oblíbený hlavně u lezců, kteří lezou problémy do 7A. Pro náročnější bouldristy je zde přes 100 problémů těžších jak 7A. Kameny jsou schovány ve smrkovém lese, který umí chránit před slunečními paprsky, ale také může po delší dobu zadržovat vlhkost. Výjimku tvoří kameny nacházející se u velkých stěn a věží. Zde mají kameny více otevřeného prostoru a rychleji vysychají. Velká část sektoru nabízí dobré dopady a bezpečný prostor pro děti. V důsledku menšího zájmu v posledních letech některé kameny opět zarostly mechem, tudíž je třeba počítat s čištěním.

The beginnings of bouldering in Modřín date back to 1998. One of the fi rst people to climb here were local climbers from a nearby town of Jílové. The very fi rst boulder problem is probably Prvotina 6C in the Buttermilk sector. The biggest boom of the area was fuelled by an open air bouldering competition which took place in today‘s sector Central in 2007. Since then, the area has attracted a huge number of climbers, some of whom have managed to clean and climb many excellent lines.
